Arlington & Co. Hatton Garden – Engagement Ring Metals
At Arlington & Co. all of our engagement ring designs are manufactured using the highest quality metals available. We work in 18ct yellow gold, platinum & 18ct rose gold.
Here is a run down of each metal to help find the right metal for you.
Gold has been a valuable and highly sought after precious metal used for jewellery for thousands of years. It is naturally yellow in colour and is the most malleable of metals in it’s purest form.
Pure yellow gold is alloyed with metals such as zinc and copper to create 18ct yellow gold this strengthens the metal for everyday wear.
Platinum is an extremely durable metal, meaning it will keep your diamond or other gemstone protected and secure.
It is hypoallergenic so it doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. When platinum scratches (as all metals do), there is very little metal lost, as it disperses back into itself, so your ring will withstand years of wear.
Platinum is a pure white metal it doesn’t discolour as other white metals do.
Rose gold holds a pink hue to it, yellow gold is alloyed with copper to create this warming colour. The more copper alloy in the metal, the deeper the rosy tones will be.
18ct Rose gold is very durable and will not discolour, it also complements most skin tones.
All of the bullion used at Arlington & Co. is supplied through recognised suppliers of high quality bullion products. These companies obtain carefully sourced raw materials through resources that can demonstrate well managed procedures for minimal environmental impact.
