Arlington & Co. Hatton Garden – Latest Commission

Emerald cut diamonds are gorgeous clear stones, rectangular shaped with long facets extending down the sides.

This shape’s large table (the flat part on top) shows off the clarity better than any other shape.

What it lacks in brilliance, it more than makes up for in undeniable elegance.

Created in the Art Deco period, the emerald cut boasts long glamorous lines, a rectangular shape with cut corners that resemble steps and it’s name was taken from the most popular shape for emeralds in the 1920s.

Our Client had a ring commissioned using her existing 8ct emerald cut diamond. Taking 40 hours we hand made the ring in our onsite workshop, here are a few photographs of some of the processes involved.

Arlington & Co. Hatton Garden – The importance of Insurance & Up to Date Valuations.

The importance of jewellery insurance is only really evident should the fateful day arise whereby you need to make a claim against loss, theft or damage.

Contrary to popular belief having your jewellery and valuable possessions insured under your homeowner’s insurance policy may not be enough.

Our insurance partners TH March can devise a bespoke jewellery and home insurance policy to best suit your needs, giving you the peace of mind in knowing that you will be able to get a comparable replacement.

A complementary valuation for insurance is supplied with every jewellery  item purchased at Arlington & Co. This should be updated every two years after one of our Jewellers has assessed the item.

For all of your other items of jewellery, Arlington & Co. will organise for a chargeable comprehensive valuation from the assay office, using The Goldsmiths Company Valuation Service.

This includes:

*An expert description and valuation of each item.

*A portfolio with digital images.

*Proof of ownership.

*Free registration on the secure e-register database.

*Assurance that you are not over or under insured.

*Quicker resolution in the event of an insurance claim.

*On-line access to your portfolio.
