Arlington & Co. Hatton Garden Certified Diamonds.

Established in 1931, the GIA is the world’s foremost authority on diamonds, coloured stones and pearls. The GIA exist to protect all purchasers of diamonds, by providing education, research and laboratory services.

The GIA is a non profit organisation and their mission is to ensure the public’s trust in diamonds. The GIA is the worlds most respected laboratory entrusted with grading and identifying more gems than any other lab.

Objectivity and independence are the hallmarks of all GIA reports and services, and GIA has elaborate processes in place to ensure a diamond’s anonymity through the grading process. Upon arrival to the Laboratory, every diamond is placed in a custom designed, transparent storage case, and all references to its owner are removed or concealed.

It is assigned a bar-coded label with a unique internal identification number that is used to track it throughout the process. Furthermore, client information is masked within the software diamond graders use to enter their assessments.

Arlington & Co design and manufacture beautiful jewellery using GIA certificated diamonds.

So we now have a silver cast made of our ‘Pug’ dog ring, from the original hand carved wax. This enables us to have an accurate 3D representation of the ring.  We can refine this as required to make sure the ring will be comfortable to wear and not too heavy. Once we are happy with the proportions we hand make it in gold.

Our Jeweller has started to cut out the intricate design for the back plate of the Sapphire ring, this is all done by hand using a saw with a fine saw blade.

Yesterday he finished the back plate and attached it to the setting that will secure the Sapphire and half moon shaped diamonds.
